National Youth Day, on 12th January 2024, was celebrated with great energy and commitment across five states – Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh by our consortium partners. Recognizing the power of youth as catalysts of change, the celebrations brought together young leaders, community members, Panchayat representatives, and local governance officials in a vibrant youth interface. As part of the day’s activities, young people not only shared their perspectives on child labour and child trafficking but also formally submitted a set of demands to the District Magistrate in Delhi, calling for stronger systems of protection and accountability. In Bihar and Jharkhand, youth engaged with Panchayat leaders, who expressed their commitment to support community-level monitoring and ensure every child’s right to education. In Rajasthan, youth met with the Mayor and submitted a demand letter for the activation of Child Protection Committees at ward, block, district, and state levels. The discussions underscored the urgency of collective action, emphasizing that families, communities, and governance structures must work hand in hand to keep children safe, in school, and free from exploitation. The celebration reaffirmed the role of young people as changemakers and created a platform for actionable partnerships, stronger accountability, and sustainable solutions that place children’s rights and dignity at the center of development.

CLFC representative submitted a memorandum to Jaipur Mayor Soumya Gurjar, calling for the activation of Child Protection Committees at ward, block, district, and state levels to strengthen child safety and end child labour
